Café Shine occupies the storefront of our building, which was once home to a nightclub called the Six Ultra-Lounge. This portion of the building is dedicated to outreach, and as the name implies, shining the light of Christ into the city. It also provides a source of income for the House of Prayer.
Long before we moved into this building, when SHOP was located next door at 260 Liberty Street and the Six was still open, the Lord began to stir our hearts over the issue of human trafficking. Years later when we were cleaning out the building and preparing to move in, evidence surfaced that human trafficking had taken place in this very building. Today, Café Shine is a testimony of God's faithfulness to redeem a space which was once a gateway of darkness into the city and use it for the purposes of His kingdom.
The Café is currently open as venue available to rent for private or public events. It is a beautiful space featuring a full-service commercial kitchen, coffee bar, and multiple seating areas, including an area with a stage which is great for small concerts. The kitchen is also available for separate rental. For more information on rentals, please us the form below to contact us.
