Personal End Of Year Message from Jim Moore

For those of you who may have missed some of the highlights, allow me to briefly re-cap the year.

It was to be a year of new beginnings. We moved into a new building in the heart of downtown Salem. There were numerous miracles that took place in order for that to happen. We were in awe. Shortly after we moved in, we were asked to vacate the building. A number of reasons were given, but when it came right down to it, there was an ordinance on the books of the City, that stated religious entities could not be located in the CB zone of downtown area. 

We were of course shocked and dismayed at having to leave, but it seemed there may have been a reason. After 9 months of praying, talking, and seeking council, the Lord made a way for the ordinance barring religious groups to be completely overturned and we moved back into our building. It was a great victory! Now other religious groups can be downtown as well. For that we rejoice in the Lords goodness.

Since then, we have been busy doing our best to keep our commission from the Lord. In August, we saw the realization of a years long goal, the launching of live 24/7 prayer in the City of Salem. On 8.8.08, a date that seemed to prophetically speak of 3-fold new beginnings for the City of Salem, the State of Oregon, and the North West Region, we started the very first of many 2-hr prayer meetings. 

The event was held out in the public park and was attended by Church Leaders, Politicians, City Officials, and believers from all across the area-wide body of Christ. When the first prayer meeting came to a close…another one simultaneously began back at the SHOP Building. It was glorious! Since then, we have continued non-stop, with twelve 2-hr prayer meetings every single day…including holidays! It has not always been easy, but we firmly believe that we are sowing into the spiritual atmosphere of the region that will produce eternal fruits for ages to come.

We are currently about to begin 2 new Internships, one entitled “BurnShine” and the other called “Intro to SHOP”. These will provide hungry youth and adults the opportunity to come and sit at the feet of Jesus for 3 months at a time, to both sow into the Mission of the City and to develop a fiery passionate heart of love for Jesus. Corresponding to these Internships, we will be hosting a regional wide event by the same name. The conference Burnshine will be a radical call to intercessors young and old from the region, to come together and seek the Lord and His strategies, for transformation of the City, State and NW Region. We are living in a time of history being made every day. We all need to find our places for the great battles to come. We need to learn how to position ourselves before the Lord on the wall of fasting and prayer, so that we can see what He is doing and be in agreement with Him for the future. We as believers need to be alert and full of faith as we move into one of the most inspiring, challenging, and revolutionary times ever known to mankind. Exciting things are on the horizon for 2009!

Lastly, thank you for your help and support. So many of you have responded in so many thoughtful ways. Thank you beautiful Bride of Christ. You are a wonder to angels and humans. What a pleasure it is to serve the object of Christ’s affections! We love you! We believe in you! We are here to serve you!
